Bulk Avocado Powder Supplier — Freeze-Dried Whole-Fruit Pulp (Persea americana) & Spray-Dried Pulp Powder, USDA & EU Organic Available, B2B Wholesale
Valeherb supplies avocado powder (also called avocado fruit powder or avocado pulp powder, Persea americana) in bulk wholesale, made from 100% real avocado flesh — not the seed, not the oil, and not a guacamole seasoning. Two grades are available: a freeze-dried whole-fruit pulp powder (Organic available) and a spray-dried pulp powder with maltodextrin. Avocado is a high-fat fruit, so unlike most fruit powders it needs care around oxidation — that runs through the notes below.
Our Two Grades
The drying method is the main decision, and with avocado it is mostly about how well the fruit’s oil is protected. Both grades start from real avocado pulp. There is no juice grade, because avocado has no juice. Only the freeze-dried grade is available organic.
| Freeze-Dried Whole-Fruit Pulp Powder | Spray-Dried Pulp Powder | |
|---|---|---|
| Made from | Whole avocado pulp (the flesh) | Avocado pulp / puree |
| Carrier | None — 100% fruit | Contains maltodextrin carrier, which also helps protect the oil |
| Colour & flavour | Palest green and fullest buttery flavour | Paler; mild, even flavour |
| Fat & stability | Highest fat and flavour, but the most oxidation-prone — protect from air, heat, and light | Carrier encapsulates the oil, so it is more stable and free-flowing |
| Flow & use | Disperses into smoothies and batters; a finer, richer powder | Free-flowing and easy to dose; the easier choice for dry mixes and drinks |
| Organic | USDA NOP & EU Organic available | Conventional only |
| Single-ingredient label | Yes — 100% avocado | No — maltodextrin is declared |
Avocado Powder, Seed Powder, Oil, Guacamole Mix: Which One?
“Avocado powder” is used for several very different things, so this is worth getting right before you order.
- Avocado fruit / pulp powder (Persea americana). The dried flesh. This is what we sell. “Avocado powder,” “avocado fruit powder,” and “avocado pulp powder” all mean this.
- Avocado seed / pit / stone powder is a different product. It is made from the seed, not the flesh, and its safety as a food has not been established by regulators. We do not supply seed, pit, or stone powder. If you searched those, this is not it.
- Avocado oil and oil powder are different. The pressed oil is used for cooking and in skin and hair products. We sell the pulp powder, not the oil.
- Peel and leaf powder are other plant parts. We supply the fruit pulp only.
- Not a guacamole mix or a flavoured drink or protein blend. Guacamole seasonings and “avocado” smoothie or protein mixes are blends. Ours is plain avocado, nothing added — and avocado is not a protein source.
Drying Method, the Oil & Colour
For a fruit powder, the drying method — not a standardized assay — is what most affects quality, and with avocado it is mostly about the oil. Avocado pulp is high in fat, most of it the monounsaturated oleic acid,[1] which is what makes the powder rich and useful — but that oil also oxidises, so an unprotected avocado powder can turn rancid and brown. Our freeze-dried grade dries the pulp at low temperature with no carrier and keeps the most fat and flavour, but it is the most oxidation-prone, so it needs protective, low-oxygen packaging and a shorter shelf life. Spray-drying uses a maltodextrin carrier that encapsulates and helps protect the oil, giving a more stable, free-flowing powder.[2] The pale green colour comes from chlorophyll and carotenoids, mainly lutein,[1] and dulls as the powder oxidises — so cool, dark, sealed storage matters more here than for a sugar-based fruit powder.
Nutritional Composition (Naturally Occurring)
As a whole-fruit powder, avocado powder carries the fruit’s natural parts, and avocado’s profile is unusual for a fruit. Levels move with cultivar, ripeness, season, and drying method, so the list below is what the fruit naturally contains rather than guaranteed standardized values.
- Monounsaturated fat — mainly oleic acid; this is avocado’s defining feature and the reason it behaves like a fat ingredient[1]
- Dietary fibre — naturally present and relatively high for a fruit[1]
- Potassium — avocado is a notably rich source[1]
- Carotenoids (lutein), vitamin E and vitamin K — naturally present; avocado is the richest fruit source of lutein[1]
Applications by Category
- Smoothies & drink mixes: a creamy, mild base for smoothie and shake powders; the spray-dried grade flows and disperses best
- Bakery & savoury: natural fat and creaminess for baked goods, dips, sauces, and dressings, with a soft green colour
- Nutrition & low-carb blends: a whole-food fat source that is low in sugar, for meal-replacement, keto-style, and fruit-and-veg blends
- Dairy & frozen: ice cream and plant-based formats wanting a creamy mouthfeel and mild flavour
- Natural fat & colour: a clean-label way to add fat, body, and a gentle green where regulations permit
- Convenience & instant foods: guacamole and sauce bases and instant mixes where dried avocado is easier to handle than fresh
Sourcing & QC Criteria
| Parameter | What to verify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Form | Fruit / pulp powder from Persea americana — not seed, oil, peel, or guacamole mix | These are different products with different composition, safety, and price |
| Grade & carrier | Freeze-dried (100% fruit, no carrier) vs spray-dried (maltodextrin declared) | Sets fat level, stability, flow, and label — single-ingredient vs declared carrier |
| Oxidation & shelf life | Peroxide value, packaging (oxygen barrier), and a realistic shelf life for a high-fat powder | The oil oxidises; this is the main quality risk that sets avocado powder apart |
| Organic certification | USDA NOP and/or EU Organic (EU 2018/848) covering the fruit and the processing facility | Both the source and the processing must be certified for an organic claim |
| Microbiology & heavy metals | TPC, yeast & mould, E. coli, Salmonella; ICP-MS (Pb, As, Cd, Hg) per batch | Core food-grade requirements for a fruit powder |
| Pesticides | Multi-residue screen for conventional grades; organic grades controlled via certification audit | Market-entry requirement for EU / US / Japan |
Regulatory Guidance
- United States: avocado (the fruit) is an established food — food use for food applications, and DSHEA for supplements. Organic grades require USDA NOP certification covering the raw fruit and the processing facility. FDA-registered facility (21 CFR Part 111) for supplement supply. Note: avocado seed is not an established food and we do not supply it
- European Union: established food use (not a novel food); organic grades require EU Organic certification (EU 2018/848). For cosmetic use, the INCI sits under Persea gratissima (e.g. Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract) — confirm the exact INCI for the form
- China: avocado (niúyóuguǒ) is a recognised imported food; supplied with full export documentation and organic certification where required
